weekend recap

I had a most fabulous weekend.
I closed the daycare at 4:30 on Friday, my friends picked me up, and we headed out of town for the bigger city. It was great. No agenda besides yummy food and shopping, and a movie. No kids! No husbands! Nothing, just girls. It was needed. We pulled into the city and decided Johnny Carinos would be just perfect. We put our name on the waiting list and ran over to the theatre to buy our tickets, went straight back over to restaurant and we were ready for the table. I devoured a plate of 16 layer lasgana =) and some wonderful bread. We were SO full!
The movie we saw was Brothers and it was intense. I liked it - I think. It was just really really intense. I vote next time for a chick flick!
We found our hotel, split the beds and Michelle and I stayed up talking until 3:30! It was so fun though. The best thing about a shopping trip is that the stores don't open until 10:00am so we had plenty of time to get around in the morning.
We went o Ihop and I indulged in so ridiculous yummo California Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes. Divine.
We shopped and shopped and stood in ridiculously long lines, but I completed my shopping and I feel good. We ate Red Robin for dinner, loved Marble Slap Creamery, and topped off with Starbucks. Mmmmm.
We pulled back into town at around midnight Saturday night and no doubt we were tired but we're young, so it's all good.
Like I said, it was great and I loved every second of it.

Last night we had our Vision Banquet at the church that celebrates the New Year and the theme and goal for the ministries. Our theme is "What Faith Does" and I couldn't be more thrilled with the idea. Faith changes lives. It heals. It believes. Faith is the foundation of my life and there couldn't be a more suitable theme right now. We sang and ate and laughed. I love my church and more so, I love my faith.

Have a great week! Love to all.

weekend recap

I had a busy and productive weekend but would have it no other way because I hate boring weekends!
Friday night immediately after the last kiddo vacated the premises I bundled lil love up and we headed to Alltel for a new cellphone. Mine had been slowly breaking over the past few months and I was wanting a new one. The plan was to get in and out in record time to make it to my friend Beth's candle home party by 7:00. It was alrady 6:30 so I knew I was pushing it but thought I would try! Well, I didn't make it to the party, I actually spent my Friday night at Alltel for 2 HOURS! Yup, I wasn't in my car headed home until 8:30, grr. Oh well, I got a brand new phone in the process and I loooooove it (so far!). I sort of had a difficult time deciding because it's such a commitment. I don't like paying for a new phone so I'm usually stuck with the same one for 2 years unless I need to make an insurance claim. I made it home, nursed a fussy baby, ate a yummy pizza J was able to cook up real quick in the oven, and I was in bed by 11:00 =)
Saturday morning Macy Grace and I laid around a bit and were somewhat lazy until J got off work and then it was on my agenda to clean house. I've been switching out lil love's winter clothes and the new sizes (she's wearing 6-9 months now), and it has taken quite some time. Worked on that, worked on cleaning the house, then needed to meet at the church to get some supplies ready for the Mother Daughter Banquet this Friday. My friend Katy and I had to make a short trip to get fitted for her wedding and while away I hit up an Alco store and scored an amazing deal on some rollup bamboo shades. I've been eyeing some for a while because I'm wanting a new look for our living room giant size window. After our trip we ran a few quick errands stopping by my dad's house for a few minutes and picking up some gringas (quesedillas) at the taco shack.
We enjoyed our normal Sunday routine with church and made up all of our shaved ice flavor concentrates making my hands very rainbow stained! I worked on a few photography projects and surprisingly this morning when I wokeup (early!) I'm not that tired. Maybe I'm finally getting used to my new life!?
Have a blessed day =)

weekend recap

What a weekend! We actually were really busy all weekend!
Friday after all the kiddos had left, I went to church for the last night of our mission conference. A friend of mine is here presenting a boys ranch he is opening in Washington for trouble boys. After the service we headed to Walmart to pick up a few things then it was home for us. We had late nights every night this week and I was exhausted! Saturday Macy Grace and I slept in and Isaac came over for a few hours to play. We went to the park for a day the LEAD sponsored with a bunch of friends and Macy Grace did really well all day. I had about a 2 hour break then headed out for 3 hours worth of photo shooting Saturday evening. It went really well here are a few pics I got.

On Sunday we had a special day at church as we commission a couple from our church to go to Arizona to start a church. I will miss them so much, they are really good friends of ours. We also took a small group of kiddos from our sunday school class out for pizza, they had a great time.

Now it's Monday and back to the grind. Have a great day!

weekend recap

Friday afternoon I was so ready and excited for an 'early evening' and the chance to wake up Saturday morning without an alarm clock like the good 'ole days! I knew my last pickup was shortly after 5 and my weekend would begin. Jeremy stopped by for a few minutes and on his way out he said, "El Amigo Chavez - 8:15 sharp", I was giddy. Ah, after a long day, I was being treated OUT, YES!!! I fed Macy some squash and milk and was hoping she would sleep through our dinner as she normally does. It had been raining all evening so without doing myself up (as there is ZERO point in the wind and rain), J came to get us and off for the Friday special at a yummy mexican restaurant. I dash in the hostess informs me they are closing early because they ran out of food. How does that happen? Okay, whatever. Plan B, La Hacienda, mexican choice #2. Three bowls of chips and salsa later, the yummest chimichanga plate, and cinnamon/sugar sopapillas we were heading home for an early retirement for me and work for J. I enjoyed the divine pleasure of sleeping in 'til 7:30 and lounging 'til 8 when we decided a day trip the close small bigger G City, I was excited! It would be rushed, but good to get away for a day. We hit Home Depot for fence pickets, Sears and Target for Macy Grace, and Sams. We drove home, arranged daycare (my parents) for itty bitty and we were off to the church for our adult Sunday School class party. I was the coordinator and we ate snack foods and dessert and played a murder mystery. It seemed to go well. It was a late evening Saturday as Macy Grace cried alot for my parents after she ate her squash. So it took a while for me to calm her down and get her to bed. Sunday we had church and I got about a 1 hour nap in the afternoon. The thing about kiddos - no Sunday afternoon nap. And I miss it! Last night was a late one as we picked up the house and cleaned it really good in preparation for a busy week with wild and crazy kiddos. The weekend was fast, too fast, but good, now it's back to the grind!
